Un’Opera per il Castello is a competition promoted by the Polo Museale della Campania and supported by the DGAAP. It represents every year an opportunity for young artists between the ages of 21 and 36 to present site-specific projects for the spaces of Castel Sant'Elmo. The proposals will have to reinterpret the context by reflecting on the concept of environment and sustainability, establishing an immediate dialogue with the complex architectural structure and its multiple audiences, able to stimulate individual and collective sensitivity in the reading of nowadays. The winning work will be exhibited in a final public event and, acquired by the Polo Museale della Campania, will become part of the permanent collection of the Castle. The competition is a tool for the enhancement of young artists and the promotion of the development of contemporary art, one of the keystones of the DGAAP mission.
