"Un’opera per..." is an annual project promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries. The project contributes to the creation of a work of contemporary art in the city elected Italian Capital of Culture to promote Italian art in urban centres with a strong historic character. Francesca Grilli was selected this year for the city of Mantua, for her proposed work entitled “Borders”.
The curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, nominated in accordance with the City of Mantua, drew up a short list of artists proposed to the commission comprised of:

The Committee’s selection of Francesca Grilli was unanimous.
