Supporting new design projects for art shops and bookshops and favouring the international mobility of young Italian artists.
These are the objectives of DE.MO., a project for young people between 18 and 35 years of age active in various fields of the visual arts, design, photography, performance, writing and dance. It was created to offer concrete opportunities for growth and development.
Curated by the MiBAC (DGAAP, DG Museums and DG Performance), in collaboration with GAI Associazione per il Circuito dei Giovani Artisti Italiani, this biennial competition consists of a series of initiatives focused on the international valorisation and promotion of Italian artists. It works to support the most interesting innovative and design projects and create new employment opportunities and professional figures.
For the biennial period 2015-2016 the traditional lines of intervention are reinforced by actions of promotion and diffusion such as a platform-diary on mobility, presentations and events to raise visibility and special prizes.
Other initiatives include the collection of and response to instances raised by diverse subjects dealing with mobility, cultural production and design at the national and international levels, with the eventual involvement of other central and territorial institutions, as well as private partners.
